Making Dreams Come True

When you’re a parent all you want to do is make your children’s dreams come true. You work hard to provide for these little people who depend on you. When it came to my daughters 3rd birthday, it was time to throw her a party. She is old enough to understand and has made friends at pre-school.

Madison’s obsession of Disney Princesses hasn’t come as a shock as she has a mother totally obsessed with everything Disney.

Every weekend myself, my son Jack & Madison have what we call a Movie Film Night. The children choose a film and we have snacks, milkshakes and the 3 of us snuggle under blankets (yes even in this heat wave!)

It was Madison’s turn to choose the film and she chose Beauty and the Beast because she liked (in her words) “Belle’s pretty dress” and so the obsession begins!

When planning her party I asked Madison what would she like, her response every time was “I want to dance with Belle to motorbike” (Little Mix’s song Power). I knew exactly who I needed contact to get a Belle for the party, Corina’s Cool Kids Parties.

Having been to many of Corina’s parties I knew I wasn’t going to be disappointed. All I needed to do was book a hall, sort invites, food, party bags and of course the cake. For the venue I used the hall where Madison use to attend pre-school. Invites were nice simple pretty ones from Asda. I also got the cake from Asda and had it personalised with Madison’s picture. As Madison’s birthday is in December I decided not to go with traditional party bags, I simply bought each child a selection box, job done!

Now I didn’t tell Madison that Belle was coming to her party, I wanted it to be a total surprise and oh my was it! Madison was so overwhelmed when Belle walked through the door, she went completely shy. Belle arrived in her blue dress and apron. She was amazing, even whilst she set up her equipment she was completely in character.

With Corina’s parties you don’t have to worry about any of the entertainment, it’s all done by the party host. Once Madison’s friends started to arrive the party got into full swing. All the other little girls couldn’t believe Belle was standing right there waiting to play with them. The children played lots of games with Belle and what I liked the most about this, is that no child is singled out, everyone receives a prize. No children were sent off the dance floor for being out in musical statues and other games they played. During pass the parcel each child got to remove a layer and receive a hidden sweet. Prizes were a mixture of sweets, stickers and tattoos with both boys and girls provided for. With Belle amusing the children it meant I could mingle with friends and family and enjoy watching all the children have a great time.

Once it was time for the party food and the children were settled eating, Belle disappeared and re-appeared wearing her yellow dress. Madison’s eyes lit up when she saw her. She said “Mummy look at Belles dress its the yellow one!” Her excitement just melted my heart. This is when Madison got to dance to her favourite song with her favourite princess. I remember becoming very emotional, because right there in that moment I knew I had made her dream come true.

A tradition that comes with Corina’s Cool Kids Parties is a little game that involves two of the adults. In this case it was myself and her Dad sat on a chair, we had to be wrapped in toilet paper, girls vs boys. All the children loved this game and even some of the adults joined in.

I can’t recommend Corina’s Cool Kids Parties enough. Seeing my own little princess have so much fun surrounded by all her friends and family and making her dream come true is honestly one of the best feelings I could ever have as a mother. Its moments like these seeing my children’s faces light up with pure happiness, I know I must be doing something right!

Now onto planning the next one, this year Madison is wanting Elsa and Anna. Wish me luck!
